For full disclosure, I am a registered Independent. I am mostly a centrist. I personally believe anyone on the FAR LEFT or the FAR RIGHT, are pretty closed minded and BOTH are extremists. Let's just say though: If I had to vote far left vs. far right, I would go left every single time. Why?: Take a look at both. In simplistic terms, lets see what the variables are. What does the far left represent? Socialism? What does the far right represent, Religious Fundamentalism? That being said, if the far left was running the country, we would be Socialists. If the far right was running the country, we would be a Theocracy. If i had to vote Socialism (Far Left) vs. Theocracy (Far Right), I would vote Socialism every single time. There are far more countries that run far better as a socialist nation than a Theocracy. I.E. Any European country (Socialism) vs. Middle Eastern country(Theocracy). I find the difference between left wing commentators (Jon Stewart, Air America, Bill Mahr) an interesting contrast to the right wing commentators (Shawn Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter). Most of the left side uses comedy and humor to present their ideologies, while most of the right uses anger and hate. Hmm, interesting indeed. |

How does the left side use comedy and humor to present their ideologies? By making fun of people? The right does not use anger and hate. They simply state the truth and if our country went to the right that doesn't neccasarily mean we would be a theocracy. Not all right-wingers are religious people.
Well said.

You're not a centrist, that's for sure. Far left and far right are not different, they're the same animal. Explain how rule by an absolute secular dictator is deifferent from being ruled by an absolute religious dictator. By the way, I've never heard of any one on the right advocating a theocracy.
...and tell me what humor there is in mercilessly villifying Joe the plumber or Sarah Palin, calling Bush a Nazi or town hall participants a racist mob.
As with too many "independents," you use the sobriquet to create the impression you are a thinker. Looks to me like you are comfortably ensconced in the 25% of the public who believe that Socialism is preferable to Capitalism (forgive them for they know not what they do...)
