Nice to see People in other parts of the world call "Bullshit". though it failed and it looks like they ayatollah has won this round, hopefully the seeds of revolution have been planted to overthrow those Zealots nut jobs who are in power. On to Iraq, nice to see the Iraqis taking control of their cities after 6 years, hopefully our occupation is ending and we can get our troops home from a war we should have never fought in the first place. In Chicago, here's betting that Mayor Daley is going to be in hot water over the parking meters, for those not in the know, He leased them to a private company for 75 years at a fraction of what they are worth, and people here are PISSED! Then he pledges that the city will pick up any cost over runs on the Olympics (if we get them). This coming after they promised no taxpayer dollars would be spent on the games. I would love to have the Olympics here, it would be great for Chicago and the U.S.A. but not if taxpayers have to foot the bill. Speaking of annoyances, this site attracts far to many conservative, religious fucks. Personally i have no use for organized religion and think that those we do are sheep, but that's o.k, it is what it is. Religion is just another form of control, most of the violence and hate in this world is due to religion. i challenge anyone to say otherwise. look at your history how many wars were started because of religion? how many people have died in the name of god. normally i don't give a shit what people believe, if they could just keep quiet. Watch Bill Mara's Religlious, you will see where I am coming from.Let's see what else i got. looks like this won;t be the Cubs year (again) but there is always hope they will get their shit together. Fuck Milton Bradley and Kevin Greg, they both are garbage. One makes excuses (Gregg), and one is just an asshole (Bradley), who are costing our team badly, destroying all that nice chemistry we had going last year. Bring on the Bears and Jay Cutler. that's it for now, stay tuned.
Peace and love always.
I, like the majority of Americans are so sick and tired of Steroids in Baseball (other sports as well, but that's a different blog.) Baseball represents more than just a game. How many of us aspired at one time or another to make it to the majors, even playing little league or Varsity? Growing up, the game was different. There were some amazing players in the 1980s-1995 who don't get their just due because of the bloated stats these cheaters are putting up. Even some of the guys we grew up watching turned out to be liars and cheats. Roger Clemens? Come the fuck on man! This guy was a legend before he left Boston! Barry Bonds was always a prick but he was a great ball player as well before 1999. There was no reason for them or anyone else. another thing that sucks about the current game is that it is hard to judge how good people are without wondering, what if? It is also hard to underestimate how damaging this is for America's youth. Steroids are the worst thing a kid can do their his/her body. Steroids need to go away. For that to happen I think MLB should do the following:

1.Release the other 103 names of the players who tested positive. It wasn't right A-Rod was the only name who was leaked. They all should have. Let's find out who did what. That being said, there should be no punishment for those players, public shame should suffice.

2. Enact stronger bans for testing positive. one + test half a season, two positives, a year, three, good-bye lifetime ban. Harsh you say? I say fuck you and fuck them for ruining our game!

3. Put up a steroid era wing in the Hall of Fame and give some players who might have HOF numbers had they juiced it up, but didn't and recognize their achievements. put some names in your critiques, mine would be Mark Grace, Andre Dawson, Jamie Moyer. Tim Raines

4. create and fund a steroids center that helps not only players but anyone who has used or had their life ruined by Steroids. it would show that MLB is serious about stopping steroids in the game of baseball and not just playing lip service to it.

That about sums it up. I'm sure the conservatives will find something socialist in this blog but whatever, I just got back home I got to go! peace and love always.
This gives you the right to make your opinion heard. It takes 5 seconds. This is still a live link.

Our new Attorney General has already said this is one of his major issues.
This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro-gun/anti-gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms.

First - vote on this one. Second - launch it to other folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published. Vote in the USA Today poll - click on the link below.
More Guns, Less "Gun Control," and Less Crime

There are more guns (at least 250 million) and gun owners (70-80 million) in the U.S. than ever. During the last decade, "gun control" has been significantly reduced. Forty states have Right-to-Carry. The federal waiting period on handguns ended in 1998, in favor of the NRA-supported national instant check. Congress refused to renew the Clinton Gun Ban, allowing it to expire in 2004. All states have hunter protection laws, 47 have range protection laws, and 47 prohibit cities from imposing gun laws more restrictive than state law. Congress and 33 states have prohibited frivolous lawsuits against the firearm industry. Since 1991, total violent crime is down 38%, murder is down 42%, and robbery is down 45%.
Firearm Safety
NRA's 55,000 Certified Instructors and 12,000 Law Enforcement Instructors reach 800,000 people annually. NRA's Eddie Eagle GunSafe® Program has been used by more than 26,000 schools, law enforcement agencies, and civic groups to reach more than 21 million children since 1988. The accidental gun death rate has declined 91% since 1904.
General Information
• Privately owned firearms in the U.S.: Over 250 million, including upwards of 90 million handguns. The number rises by approximately 4 million annually. (BATFE)
• Gun owners in the U.S.: 70-80 million; 40-45 million own handguns
• American households that have firearms: Approx. 40-45%
• Hunters nationwide: 14.5 million (National Shooting Sports Foundation)
• NRA State Associations and Local Clubs: 10,000
• NRA Target Shooting Tournaments annually: 10,000
• NRA Certified Instructors and Law Enforcement Instructors: 62,000"
Do we need "Gun Control", or more "Federal Mental Health Workers" in our schools, offices, unemployment lines, and throughout or lives?

"Gun Control" will control 70-80 million; but, "Federal Mental Health Workes" will be in control of 360 million. That is what you need to go for, "Big Brother", control over the lives of the 360 million.
The sports writer favorite seems to be Mike Hart, Darren McFadden and Ray Rice. But what puzzles me is that none of them led in any categories for national recognition. They do not lead in rushing yards or scoring. So why is it that they seem to be the front runners for the Doan Walker Award, the best running back award? I wonder, does playing in a certain conference really? If those lousy sports writers ever took numbers serious, like they do with the BCS, they would know that UCF running back Kevin Smith leads the college football world in scoring, rushing yards, and rushing attempts.
When defenses are up against Kevin Smith, they are not trying to stop a normal being; they are trying to stop a god. Compared to the front runners of those sport writers minds, Smith has only had one game where he rushed less than 100 yards. If someone looked at Hart, McFadden, and Rices numbers, they have rushed less than 100 yards more frequently than Smith has. Smith has stayed consistent with his numbers throughout the year, yet gains no recognition for the Doan Walker or Heisman Award. There is so much injustice with the college football world. Even Smiths rival at Tulane didnt get recognition. Tulanes running back Matt Forte has always been a step ahead of Smith for the rushing title until last week where he stumbled into a 120 yd game and Smith over took him by rushing more than 200 yards.
If you ask me, the front runners for the Doan Walker award should be between Kevin Smith and Matt Forte, the two leading rushers in the NCAAF, with Smith getting the nod. If anyone watched a UCF football game this season, they would see the gaudy numbers Smith puts up without playing the entire game. Yes, thats right; Smith doesnt play the entire game. He instead takes a rest after the game is well in hand. If he played the entire game every week, he could have eclipsed well into 3000 yards instead of a measly 2100 yards.
So what could be holding Kevin Smith back from attaining any awards possible? The answer lies within the conference he plays in, Conference USA. Lets face facts, Conference USA is great, but in college football, if youre not in a BCS conference, then youre worth nothing to ESPN. College football is nothing like the NFL where you would think that team with a really good record is ranked higher than a team with a mediocre record. A 6-5 team in the PAC 10 has a better shot at gaining a BCS bowl than the 9-3 UCF Knights. How bad is Conference USA you ask? Well take into account that if UCF beats Tulsa for the conference title game, they are only good enough to play in the Liberty Bowl where, UCF being the number 1 team in Conference USA, they get to play, at best, the sixth best team in the Big East. So having a good record in the college football is like running for president in the United States, and if youre not a Democrat or Republican, chances are that youre not going to be nominated.
If only UCF played in a better conference for sporting news, such as the ACC or SEC, Kevin Smith would win the Doan Walker Award and maybe even the Heisman. Smith is so good that he has broken Emmitt Smiths record for rushing yards in the state of Florida. Yes, the Emmitt Smith, from the University of Florida, who later went on to set the NFL career rushing record. Additionally, with the Conference USA Championship game this week and the Liberty Bowl next week, Kevin Smith can easily rush past Barry Sanders to hold the Division 1-A single season rushing mark for himself. Yes, the same Barry Sanders, who is also considered a college football god.
But for a few minor details for those of you who wished that Kevin Smith had committed to a better conference, here is the answer I have for you, its not his fault. Kevin Smith has always been a talented football player. Back in high school, he was his schools running back until his senior year where he was converted into a defensive back. When he wanted to get signed as a running back to those better teams they wanted him as a safety instead of his natural position, running back. Thankfully, here at UCF, they were the only school willing to give him the opportunity to play as running back, and now that he is peaking in his college career, and is returning for his senior year, UCF could be on the way of gaining a BCS bowl and Smith could get all the recognition he rightfully deserves.
With the way Kevin Smith runs the football, it is so hard to understand why he got snubbed the Doan Walker Award. Smith didnt even make it as a finalist for the vote getters. If the award goes out to the nations best running back, shouldnt the leading rusher and scorer at least be a finalist, even if that same person plays in Conference USA. Kevin Smith doesnt have to be upset about getting snubbed; he has the entire UCF Student Body to be upset for him. All I am saying is that the numbers dont lie; if eclipsing the 2000 yard mark for rushing doesnt get you national recognition, then I truly dont know why Lee Corso or Kirk Herbstreit have jobs on College Gameday. If they already decided who they like as a player without looking at the numbers, then why discuss it. Theyre basing their votes on opinions, not numbers. All I can say now is that next season Kevin Smith will not be snubbed ever again.

MX-5 Jinba Ittai

http://theamericancritic.com/articles/MX5_Jinba_Ittai/

Jinba Ittai, a Japanese phrase that translates to "the rider and horse as one," and Mazda has done that with the MX-5. It has been about eighteen years since Mazda came out with the MX-5, and practically the exact same car is in production. In the past the MX-5 has always been hailed as a perfect roadster, but this one, the 2007, is different. Mazda has made considerable changes to the entire car itself inside and out. Now the question is, for better or for worse?
The new MX-5 has a two-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 166 horsepower, which is more horsepower than any previous stock MX-5 engine ever built. Still, that is not a lot of horsepower compared to cars such as a Beemer, but now you can feel all 166 horses. With the lower horsepower you have to change gears quite frequently, but this is not a problem. The shifter for the MX-5 has not changed, because it is a close to perfect as possible. It is an extremely short shifter and can change gears with one finger. These features bring out the “soul of a sports car.” So, in the engine and tranny of this new MX-5 have been improved.
However the most noticeable and questionable changes made to this little roadster is the body. The engineers and Mazda have made this new model more chunky, wider, and more beastlier. Having the wider body means a wider inside, but the engineers at Mazda were, well being geeks about it. They shaved off twenty-three grams from the review mirror. So, if you buy anything over twenty-three grams, you have just ruined their design. The engineers did the once thought impossible, improve upon perfection. This car was famous not for what it had on the inside of the car, but what it lacked on the inside. Over the years they have been progressively adding more and more features to the inside.
There was one feature that all the engineers at Mazda agreed on, that was they did not want to add anymore grip. Most companies are trying to get more and more grip out of the car each year, but Mazda is the first car company that does not want to get anymore grip. From experience driving and racing the MX-5, this car has more than enough grip to get you to the apex and out of the turn without breaking a sweet.
Even with all these changes and new gadgets you can buy a brand new MX-5 for under twenty thousand dollars. With the money you save by buying this cheap sports car can be funneled right into it. What most people do not know is the MX-5 has the largest aftermarket for parts and accessories. That means you can get performance parts for next to nothing, compared to other car makes that have to custom make all performance parts. That is why the majority of them out there are being raced as either club cars or spec cars.
One of my major concerns with the MX-5 is always been safety. I mean you are sitting in a tiny tub on the road with trucks, SUV’s, and semis. Without a surprise the safety has improved along with technology. Such as, the new hard top feature that protects you in a case of a roll over, and it is a convertible hard top which is what a roadster is, a convertible.
Overall the new MX-5 is amazing. The engineers have made “the rider and horse as one.” While somehow keeping the humble sports car features that we have all come to love with the little roadster. Mazda has built the perfect roadster hands down, and this model proves it. If you have tell the engineers not to add anymore grip that means it is perfect. All the changes they have made were for the better, none of which were useless or just plain stupid to have.
