Fuck you Manny, A-Rod and all the Rest......

My title should say it all. I, like the majority of Americans are so sick and tired of Steroids in Baseball (other sports as well, but that's a different blog.) Baseball represents more than just a game. How many of us aspired at one time or another to make it to the majors, even playing little league or Varsity? Growing up, the game was different. There were some amazing players in the 1980s-1995 who don't get their just due because of the bloated stats these cheaters are putting up. Even some of the guys we grew up watching turned out to be liars and cheats. Roger Clemens? Come the fuck on man! This guy was a legend before he left Boston! Barry Bonds was always a prick but he was a great ball player as well before 1999. There was no reason for them or anyone else. another thing that sucks about the current game is that it is hard to judge how good people are without wondering, what if? It is also hard to underestimate how damaging this is for America's youth. Steroids are the worst thing a kid can do their his/her body. Steroids need to go away. For that to happen I think MLB should do the following:

1.Release the other 103 names of the players who tested positive. It wasn't right A-Rod was the only name who was leaked. They all should have. Let's find out who did what. That being said, there should be no punishment for those players, public shame should suffice.

2. Enact stronger bans for testing positive. one + test half a season, two positives, a year, three, good-bye lifetime ban. Harsh you say? I say fuck you and fuck them for ruining our game!

3. Put up a steroid era wing in the Hall of Fame and give some players who might have HOF numbers had they juiced it up, but didn't and recognize their achievements. put some names in your critiques, mine would be Mark Grace, Andre Dawson, Jamie Moyer. Tim Raines

4. create and fund a steroids center that helps not only players but anyone who has used or had their life ruined by Steroids. it would show that MLB is serious about stopping steroids in the game of baseball and not just playing lip service to it.

That about sums it up. I'm sure the conservatives will find something socialist in this blog but whatever, I just got back home I got to go! peace and love always.
Ryan the great

Ryan

I have to concur with Cusa2, this was well written and clearly presented points and you even offered solutions. I agree with you on about 99% of it. The only question that I have is where would the funding for the “steroids center “come from? If it comes from fines and the salaries of the suspended players then I’m all for it. However I’m with cusa2 if it would be tax payer funded. If someone can afford steroids they can afford the treatment. Good job……Are you sure you’re not a closet conservative, this whole article sounded like demanding personal responsibility on those players. Hope you enjoyed your vacation.

Hi Ryan. From the first incident we would think that we all learned from it. I guess not. When something like this happens there's just no way to correct the unjust. True, not fair to the players who dedicated years of hard work that includes putting aside their education, leaving behind their families etc. The point is, CHEATING is never a good thing no matter what the sport is. So, if you're a player, how far would you go to get the glory? Thanks Ryan

Dear Ryan the Grate
No insults this time. Well written article, and many good and viable points of view. However, as a libertarian, I believe we should stay out of people's business. It is nice to be nostalgic and hope for those halcyon days of yore when the boys of summer were in it for the sport. Unfortunately, today it is big business. Entertain and excite me. NOW! Hit 100 home runs! After all, I'm now paying $100 for no nose bleed seats, $7 for beer etc. For the $100 million contracts, they can take krypton for all I care. They have taken the game way from the average guy and his kids The greed is breathtaking. The solution is to have two halls of statistics - the historical hall of fame when the players were natural heroes, and the cyborg hall of fame for the chemically enhanced gladiators. This is not a political statement. I'm as sad as you. Be practical, baseball is no long a pastural event. We live in a world of "I'm bored I want a home run now!" Like Rome, give them bread an circus, Who knows how long the world will be around? Also I don't believe in free rehabilitation for millionaires. If they are have money for bling and broads, let them pay for it ...one way or another. As Forrest Gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does." Peace, or maybe a little piece would be ok!
