Hard-nosed conservatism

Here's an article where a Republican senator is criticizing an Obama and Chavez meet-and-greet that included smiles and laughter. Senator says Obama's appearance with Chavez 'irresponsible' (CNN) ![]() Now to me, this is the perfect example of the type of hard-nosed conservatism that undermines US relations and makes American's the subject of ridicule abroad. It's safe to say that we all know from personal experience with neighbors, co-workers, family and friends that ignoring relationship trouble and holding to firm stereotypes and past grudges only makes things worse. Unless someone has a better way to interpret this senator's remark, I see Senator Ensign's criticism as a good reason why our country finally turned to a leader with an open mind for change. Furthermore, if Ensign had his wish with regard to how we interact with other countries, I'm sure we'd be in the midst of another Cold War in no time. That's the thing, adopting a Cold War mentality seems to be the only way many conservative officials know how to do business. Thus---a time for a change in our approach to foreign relations. |

Show Oldest FirstMan where have you been all my life?
Ryan29
Well, after High School I joined the United States Air Force to fight in a War. A war that Congress never wanted to win. Afterwords, I went to College, worked on getting my Pilots License, Divers Certification, obtained a Commercial Drivers License, went back to College for more degrees, dropped out to work for my over educated millionaire brother, got rich, got poor, got well off. I guess I have been just to busy to look for you Ryan! But I am here now!
you want Oprah tickets I'll get them for you
Ryan29
Will I be staying with you or Milorad "Rod" R. Blagojevich?
You may need to know more about Mr. "JR", then you think you know already. His father was, before he died, Barack Hussein Obama. So, that makes your man, "Junior"
Wow since I’m one of those one of those ignorant backwards rednecks that reside in the south all this time I thought you were talking about Earnhart when you were referring to junior. Well I’m off to church then to the range.

My man, lol anytime you want Oprah tickets I'll get them for you, one of the perks of living in Chicago. And your right, I was wrong. Your right I don't know anything. Man where have you been all my life?
does anyone call him Jr?
Ryan29
Yes! I do, Mr. "Junior", in fact.
did anyone call George Bush Jr?
Ryan29
They did not call him "Junior" because he is not a "Junior.
George Herbert Walker Bush (born June 12, 1924) served as the 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993. Bush held a variety of political positions prior to his presidency, including Vice President of the United States in the administration of Ronald Reagan (1981–1989) and Director of Central Intelligence (DCI) under Gerald R. Ford.
George Walker Bush (born July 6, 1946) served as the 43rd President of the United States from 2001 to 2009. He was the 46th Governor of Texas from 1995 to 2000 before being sworn in as President on January 20, 2001
I'll keep trying to challenge different mindsets.
Ryan29
You should really try to challenge your own mindset. I know more about Mr. "Junior" and Mr. "W.baa.U" then I really want to. I guess it comes from listening, and not just having feelings about them both. I really do not care about either one much.
Oh, by the way Ryan, my next Article will be about something Religious, you will love it. I am sure. Guns first (Article), then Religion (Article). Isn't that the way it should be?
Dang! Oprah's on got to run!!!
OOPS! Just Kidding!
does anyone call him Jr? No! did anyone call George Bush Jr? nope, it was always George W Bush. I'll tell you something however Jackass, I find you highly amusing and enjoy your babble. Clearly this site needs to get more liberals on here but it's cool I'll keep trying to challenge different mindsets.
Why do you keep calling Obama Jr, anyway? I'm confused.
Ryan29

Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. (1936 − 24 November 1982) was a Kenyan senior governmental economist, and father of US President Barack Obama. He is a central subject in his son's memoir, Dreams from My Father.
hahahahhahahahahaha. let's leave Religion out of this I am concerned with this reality not the next one. I should have studied harder? my friend you have no idea what your saying, but that is ok. I did not say you said anything about tax cuts, I was merely referring to the GOP leaders who when asked about what they would do to stimulate the economy, the response was "Tax Cuts". Why do you keep calling Obama Jr, anyway? I'm confused.
no one needs a history lesson, I got a master's in that subject.
Ryan29
I am sorry Ryan, I thought we had a discourse about "a time for a change in our approach...". I agreed with the proposition that we should have direct talks with and meetings with and be shaking hands with all the people in the world, good, bad and ugly? Just as Mr. "Junior" is doing. He is alienating our old friends to pander to our new "friends". Remember Ryan, "The friend of my enemy is my enemy." We are losing what real meaningful support we have in the world.
tax cuts
Ryan29
I do not believe I have said anything about tax cuts. If I have, please quote me here. Refresh my memory, please.
You really should have studied more in class. You would have learned that the types of "friends" we are turning to will stab us in the back, real fast. God loves you Ryan29, and please read something besides left wing blogs.
Marc I am with you 100%. it's funny, it's always the conservatives who are afraid of change.
I would like to start out by pointing out that Bush was by no means a conservative; at best he was a right of center moderate. During his administration the size of the government pretty much doubled and the spending was out of control. True conservatives believe in limited government. I’m not afraid of change I would gladly welcome it; I would be ecstatic if true conservatives would take over Washington. Unfortunately we just get the same liberal garbage just repackaged.
Get over it, you bunch of losers you lost the election and now you fuckers got no say in governemnt!
Spoken like a true left wing totalitarian extremist.
I understand that doing things differently is shocking for someone like you, but get over it and if you got a problem, write your congressmen or call the prezx. oh that's right no one gives a fuck what you have to say!
There is nothing new about the tax and spend tactics that Obama’s rubber stamp congress is doing, just look back to the Carter administration. Additionally I do write and call my congressman and senators because that’s how a representative republic works.
