Reality check!

the 1990s were clearly a golden age in our nation's history. Those days are gone forever and we would all do well to remember that fact. George Bush and his band of traitors destroyed all the optimism Americans had when this Millennium kicked off. Eight years later, we find ourselves in a series of crisis. At least we got smart leaders who are doing the best they can. Obama is clearly what we need, he has done so much good in such a short time. Which brings me to my next point. Fellow liberals, take a deep breathe. Barrack deserves the benefit of the doubt. Myself, I am holding off judgment until his term is up. The man deserves that. More importantly, thou times are dark for the united states and the world, things are starting to look up. I envision America after four years to be well on the way of recovery, with even more good things after we get him elected. Like minded people! We have to stop the criticism and trust in the man we prayed would get elected. As for those in the Minority, it's never to late to move away or better yet, jump off a cliff! Stay strong my fellow liberals and for god's sake, if you ever start to doubt Obama, remember what we had the last go around. Keep your chins up!

the Governor of Louisana? FEMa stands for FEDERAL! it was the Federal Government's job down ion New Orleans after the storm hit. Who's fault was it that it was mismanaged? The Federal Government! God, youra real fucking moron

Yes FEMA is suppose to come in afterwards and help, but the primary response is suppose to come from the state.

I've been to New Orleans several times. I lived through the fucking storm what part was I not clear on? Also Todd, you dumbfuck loser, I was responding to the other Idoit here, Caligolferchic. I lumped you in with her and navy rob because I think all three of you are losers. Pay attention Nutbag!

Well isn’t that special you lived there when it hit. Well what about us who live in Florida where Katrina hit first. Or all the hurricanes that hit every year and lets go back to 2004 when were hit by like 5 storms in September alone. The difference is we had good local and state leadership that actually had a game plan. Additionally I live above sea level and if a Category 3 or above was heading towards Jacksonville I would leave. So because Ray Nagin and Governor Blanco failed their people its all Bush’s fault? I guess Bush is responsible for those school buses not being used to evacuate people? Bush is also to blame for all those brainless fools who stayed behind instead of getting the fuck out of dodge. Additionally let’s not forget that Bush forced Governor Blanco reported to the federal government that the levees were holding even after they were breached.

Cali...really???...Obama was chosen by "a small few". Did you happen to see the election results? Your words, "Like if a conservative did all the things Obama is doing liberals would go through the roof" The administration of the last 8 yrs tried and managed in many cases to re-write the constitution. Their answer to any one that disagreed was that they were unpatriotic or unamerican.
But thats all water under the bridge and I'm moving on. You know, it will only benefit us all if Obama succeeds in making things better. But, I truly believe you would rather see him fail just so you could say you were right.

Ryan I never said Bush did anything good, I said 75% was to blame on the governor of Lousiana. The people of Lousiana had never been thru a storm of that size and usually when a Hurricane gets closer to land it weakens which is another reason no one really left. Everyone thought the damn would protect them as it had done for all previous hurricanes, however Katrina did not weaken as much as inticipated and the damn broke. FEMA did a shitty job in helping people and several people spent their FEMA money on big screen TVs and $100 shoes. The whole thing was mis managed. And Shallow.... I can't remember the last time I directly called someone a name or brought someone down and if I did it was probably only once or twice compared to Ryan who calls people names who merely leave a critique on an article, but becaue you two are partners in crime you never call that one out. Kind of like if a conservative did all things Obama was doing now liberals would go thru the roof, but since its the chosen one (by a small few) he just gets away with it!

Well then cali..your so called debating skills leave something to be desired. You don't debate, you attack and resort to name calling and personal put downs of anyone that doesn't agree with your way of thinking. That, my dear is why I called you spoiled. You sound, to me, like a spoiled child that resorts to that kind of behavior when they don't get their way. At least I try to look at different sides of an argument...you won't even try..that is why I say you are hard headed. So, don't talk to me about debating, because you don't know how.

ok let's debate miss princess cali. What did the Bush administration do during the Katrina crisis that you consider to be a good job?

caligolferchic on April 9th, 2009 at 7:45 PM

Who the hell cares? Its not a competition to see who can post the most articles and critiques! If I felt the need to write an article I would do so. I'm not slamming anyone, its called having a debate and if you post an article its up for anyone and everyone to critique. I mentioned the part about working and going to school full time because for some reason you think I'm spoiled when you have yet to know the least bit about me. Just because I like to argue back does not mean I'm a spoiled bitch!

You are right Ryan..all she can do is critique. Go back in her history on this site and Cali has never posted any composition of her own making. I realize the site is called the American Critic but come..she should be able to come up with at least one article of her own. I don't think she has one...just likes to slam others.
