| Well In his first day in office, Obama put a ban on torture and ordered GITMO closed within a year. by doing these two acts so early in his administration, Obama is making a clean break with the past (W's bullshit policies!) and showing Americans that he intends to be a president of action, not just words. Also, by banning torture and closing GITMO, Obama is making sure that American Ideals are not a thing of the past, as they were during the Bush years. As Americans, we can and should defend ourselves but we have to do it the RIGHT way, not by torturing prisoners. GITMO is a blight on our nation and we all should be happy it is closing! |
